The Purpose of the Bachelor Of Science In Nursing Programme is to Prepare a Bachelor Of Science In Nursing who will function as a member of the health team beginning with competencies for the first level position in both the hospital and community.
The program is geared to the health needs of the country, the community and the individual, and it will serve as a basis for advanced study and specialization in nursing; it will assist nurses in their personal and professional development enabling them to make their maximum contribution to the society as individual citizens and nurses.
Duration : 4 Years
Eligibility Criteria : 10+2 examination passed with English along with four Subject obtain atleast 50% marks ( Pure -Science ) Age Limit -17 – 31 Years
Admission process : Desirable performance in joint Entrance Examination board ( JENPA Examination )
OVERVIEW
The objective of the course is to demonstrate competency in the knowledge and skills in providing comprehensive nursing care based on a problem-solving approach in the hospital and community. In this way a person can practically contribute greatly to society. Since it involves nursing of the wounded or ill, a lot of sectors require these graduates. Hence this profession is also in great demand and that is only expected to increase in the future. In India, the course is registered under and is controlled by the Indian Nursing Council.
A person who is genuinely interested in serving society by caring and treating those in need should not think twice about taking this course. As a nurse, a person makes a huge difference in people’s lives . A caring and compassionate nurse is considered a guardian angel by patients. This can be a very satisfying and gratifying career for the compassionate.
A person can go further for a Masters in Nursing which is a great advantage as it increases the expertise in the field, generating more demand and better opportunities. If a person wishes to go into teaching, then PH.D. is advised.
